4 Gen Logistics, a leader in sustainable freight transportation, announces the energization of 30 new Hyper-Fast chargers at its Port of Long Beach facility.

These chargers, capable of speeds up to 350kW, are developed in collaboration with Electrify America. This initiative marks a significant step in 4 Gen’s commitment to a fully zero-emission fleet by 2025, positioning it as the only North American company operating over 75 zero-emission trucks (ZEVs) – ten years ahead of California’s Air Resources Board (CARB) mandate requiring all drayage trucks to be zero-emission by 2035.

The chargers will support 4 Gen’s growing fleet, which currently consists of 79 ZEVs, including Class 8 Volvo VNRs, Kenworth T680E BEVs, and Nikola hydrogen fuel cell trucks. The infrastructure is part of a broader effort to reduce emissions in Southern California, particularly around the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. Phase One includes 44 chargers across Rialto and Long Beach.

These Hyper-Fast chargers enhance 4 Gen’s operational efficiency, enabling its fleet to run multiple daily shifts between the Inland Empire and the Ports. Electrify America’s $25 million “Green City” investment, focused on electrification projects in Long Beach and Wilmington, Los Angeles, supports the first phase of the project.

Adding these 30 chargers and the upcoming Phase Two at Long Beach solidifies 4 Gen’s leadership in zero-emission logistics, helping the company meet and exceed environmental standards.
